About the role
Balfour Beatty are looking for a Quality Manager to join our Enabling Functions Team.
This is a full-time permanent role, adopting a hybrid working approach, with occasional national travel as required. The successful candidate can be based from any of our UK offices.
The Quality Manager will participate in central Quality function activity focussed on driving a Right First Time ethos across the UK organisation that seeks to meet requirements every time, eliminate waste and minimise the ‘cost of quality’. This includes assisting in development of quality strategy, leading the delivery of strategic functional objectives, as well as other continual improvement activities. There is also a focus on systems administration and facilitating end-users from across the organisation.
What you'll be doing
Positive and proactive engagement with members of multiple internal communities will be essential to ensure that initiatives and objectives are delivered timeously and realise all expected benefits. Data analysis and activity coordination will also be ever-present in day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with development and delivery of Quality strategy and associated change programmes, leading delivery of specific priority areas or objectives.
- Facilitate a ‘One Balfour Beatty’ approach to quality through the derivation of consistent, value-adding quality governance, controls and assurance expectations which align to business, customer and regulatory expectations, owning documentation within the management system.
- Lead governance, administration and continual improvement of our Digital Progressive Assurance platform (and other quality management platforms) to ensure effective use.
- Provide quality subject matter expertise in support of work winning opportunities.
- Relentlessly promote our Right First Time message and the 4 accompanying commitments, managing quality training programmes to ensure our approach is adopted by all.
- Lead planning and delivery of internal initiatives such as World Quality Week and support involvement with external organisations such as the CQI and GIRI.
- Manage the implementation of annual ISO9001 Management Review(s) and/or business planning exercises, ensuring the delivery of agreed actions
Who we're looking for
- Demonstrable subject matter expertise in Quality Management, including
methodologies, tools and applications.
- Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Construction or Manufacturing (relevant
industry) and/or have achieved CQI Chartered Membership level (MCQI).
- Able to work effectively with functional leaders.
- Gathers, analyses and evaluates facts whilst remaining objective and impartial
in all scenarios and tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build influential relationships with a
variety of stakeholders (quality and non-quality).
- Ability to review existing approaches and lead continual improvement.
- A working knowledge of information management and change management
principles.
