Job description:

The role would be to assist the Nursery Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and educational provision are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Protect the children’s health, safety and well-being at all times.
- Support the children in their daily routines, including personal hygiene, mealtimes and transitions.
- Work in positive partnership with parents and families. This includes promoting effective two-way communication with our parents.
- Supervise and interact with children in an encouraging and supportive manner.
- Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
- Promote children’s wellbeing, confidence and development through play.
- Continue to promote a positive nursery setting. This is done through caring for the children and providing them with a safe and secure environment to thrive.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the setting. This would include tidying up/cleaning ensuring the classroom is safe for all children.
- We expect our team to arrive on time, ready for work.
- Work in partnership with other staff members to create a positive nursery environment.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record children's progress accurately.
- Ability to contribute to the structured assessment programme eg. Bringing your ideas to extend themes and topics.
- Supervise and support staff, maintaining good teamwork and communication.
Essential:
- Candidates to have 3 years experience of working in a pre-school setting with children aged 3-10 years age.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD), or an equivalent relevant Early Years qualification/ Teaching qualification.
- Minimum 1 years experience (obtained in the last 5 years) in a leadership role within an education setting.
- IT skills
- Excellent organisation skills – displayed through experience with rotas, records.
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their learning and development.
- Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Desirable:
- Degree-level qualification in Early Years, Childcare, Education, Management, or related field.
- Experience as a Deputy or Team Leader in a childcare or play setting.
