About us
AM Recycling Materials is a small, established trading company exporting recovered paper and plastics from the UK to mills overseas, primarily India. We're a tight team of under fifteen, so everyone's work matters and nothing disappears into a process.
The role
You'll own the movement of our containers from UK supplier to overseas mill — the practical engine room of the business. Day to day that means:
- Booking haulage and container shipments with hauliers, freight forwarders and shipping lines
- Processing indents and sales orders, and raising loading instructions to suppliers
- Preparing and checking export documentation — bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, Annex VII / waste shipment paperwork and pre-shipment inspection certificates
- Tracking live shipments and keeping customers and colleagues updated on ETAs, delays and rollovers
- Chasing weights, tickets and paperwork from suppliers so invoicing can go out clean and on time
- Maintaining accurate shipment and container records
What we're looking for
Freight forwarding, shipping or export admin experience is an advantage, but we'll train the right person. What we can't train is temperament: this job suits someone organised, unflappable and comfortable chasing people politely but persistently. You'll need:
- Strong attention to detail — a wrong weight or a mis-typed B/L costs money
- Confidence on the phone and by email with hauliers, shipping lines and overseas customers
- Solid Excel and Outlook skills
- The judgement to spot when something's gone wrong and flag it early rather than hope it resolves itself
What we offer
A varied role with genuine responsibility from early on, direct exposure to international trade, and a supportive team where you'll learn the whole export process rather than one narrow slice of it. We offer Pension, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, on-site parking.
Pay: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Company pension
- Free parking
- Sick pay
Work Location: In person
