Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to deliver goods efficiently and reliably to various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, coupled with your attention to safety and customer service, will ensure smooth operations and satisfied clients. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards and identify any issues before departure
- Deliver goods to designated locations, managing schedules effectively to meet delivery deadlines
- Secure loads properly, including handling flatbed deliveries, to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests, delivery notes, and logs
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while maintaining a high standard of driving excellence
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, specifically with delivery routes and flatbed transportation preferred
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards applicable to commercial driving
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities, including load securing and route planning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by operational needs
