Opportunity to join our hygiene team maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the bakery to support safe, legal and efficient food production. This is industrial cleaning of a factory environment and is an essential role within our organisation. The role will include the cleaning of walls, ceilings and floors as well as toilets, canteen, stairwells, benches, machinery, equipment and other factory areas in line with cleaning schedules. This role is essential in helping the business meet quality and audit standards reporting any worries to the Hygiene supervisor .
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and deep cleaning of production areas.
- Clean and sanitise equipment and environment.
- Complete cleaning schedules and keep hygiene records accurately.
- Use correct cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH instructions.
- Ensure chemicals and equipment stored safely after use.
- Remove waste and maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Report any damage, faults or risks to the Hygiene Supervisor.
- Work cooperatively with other departments to maintain standards.
- Undertake any reasonable duties to support factory operations.
Personal Specifications
- Good understanding of cleanliness and safe working practices.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of the team
- Able to follow written procedures and schedules accurately
- Physically fit to undertake repetitive cleaning tasks
- Basic communication skills in spoken and written English essential
- Previous food hygiene experience desirable
- Awareness of COSHH and HACCP
This role is based in a busy commercial bakery. The hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings 8.00am - 12.00pm and Saturday mornings 7.30am - 11.30pm (Monday & Tuesday day days off) totalling 16 normal hours with some flexibility required to cover sickness and holidays.
