MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
·To maintain and enhance the appearance of the hotel grounds, gardens, lawns, pathways, and outdoor spaces, ensuring they are presented to the highest standard for guests, visitors, and team members throughout the year.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Grounds Maintenance
- Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, feeding, and watering.
- Plant, prune, weed, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, and hedges.
- Prepare flower beds and borders to ensure attractive seasonal displays.
- Remove leaves, litter, and debris from gardens, pathways, and outdoor areas.
- Maintain outdoor furniture and report any repairs required.
Hotel Presentation
- Ensure all external areas are clean, tidy, and welcoming.
- Maintain entranceways, car parks, patios, and guest outdoor spaces.
- Support the setup and upkeep of outdoor event and wedding areas.
- Assist in preparing the grounds for special events and functions.
Health & Safety
- Operate gardening machinery and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
- Store tools, chemicals, and equipment securely.
- Report hazards, accidents, maintenance issues, or damaged equipment promptly.
General Duties
- Assist with seasonal projects and landscaping improvements.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks when required.
- Support other departments during busy periods as directed by management.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.
· Previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience.
· Good knowledge of plants, shrubs, and lawn care.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good attention to detail.
· Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Relevant horticultural qualification.
· Experience maintaining hotel, estate, or commercial grounds.
· Experience using ride-on mowers and powered garden equipment
· Reliable and punctual.
· Hardworking and proactive.
· Positive attitude and professional appearance.
· Pride in maintaining high standards.
· Strong organisational skills.
