Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated mechanic to carry out maintenance and repairs of all golf course equipment, vehicles and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience to contribute to the smooth running of our operations. The position involves working with a range of tools and technical systems, requiring attention to detail, safety awareness, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Duties
- To service all machinery as per operator's manual to maintain equipment reliability and safe use.
- To repair breakdowns promptly and prioritise works in accordance to course requirements.
- Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment to minimise downtime
- To sharpen all cutting units and mowing blades on a regular basis to ensure plant health through quality of cut
- Keep full detailed records of servicing and repairs.
- Maintain workshop in orderly condition.
- Daily set up of machinery.
- Work within the Company's Health and Safety Policies.
- Diagnosing faults using schematics and technical manuals.
- Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks
- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance programs
Desirable
- Proven experience as a golf club mechanic or in a similar role
- Familiarisation with turf care machinery
- Fabrication and welding capability
- City and Guilds qualifications or NVQ qualification
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems and machinery
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings, and manuals
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Experience with equipment repair, maintenance programs, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting
- Certification in operation and maintenance of bed knife and reel grinders
General
An interest in golf would be helpful but not essential.
First Aid trained preferred.
This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to apply their mechanical expertise in a dynamic setting. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team, prioritising safety at all times.
This role may be offered on a part‑time or full‑time basis, depending on the experience, availability, and preferences of the successful candidate.
Pay: £31,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
