About the Role
As a Service Manager, you will provide operational leadership and management oversight to ensure services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will support teams, monitor performance, and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve service objectives.
You will play a key role in maintaining service quality, implementing improvements, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards whilst supporting a positive and productive working environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and overseeing service delivery to ensure effective, efficient, and high-quality outcomes
- Leading, supporting, and developing staff within the service area to promote strong performance and professional growth
- Monitoring service performance and ensuring objectives, targets, and key performance indicators are achieved
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to support effective service delivery
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the implementation of service changes where required
- Ensuring policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are followed across all areas of service delivery
- Providing leadership, guidance, and operational support to teams and colleagues
- Managing priorities, resolving challenges, and making effective decisions to support service performance
- Supporting a culture of improvement, accountability, and high-quality service standards

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a management or service leadership role
- Strong understanding of service delivery, operational management, and performance monitoring
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems, and make effective decisions
- Experience supporting and developing teams to achieve service objectives
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining service quality
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
- Experience leading teams through service improvement initiatives or organisational change
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to service management
Qualifications & Registration
- Relevant professional qualifications and experience required for the role
- All legally required licences, qualifications, and registrations must be verified
