Summary
The role is very much hands on and will involve serving customers on a day to day basis.
HOURS OF WORK: 42.5 hours
LOCATION: Newbury
REPORTING TO: Branch Manager
Summary
The role is very much hands on and will involve preparing orders and serving customers on a day to day basis. Machine operation is central to this role.
Standard hours of work
The basic hours of work will be 42½ per week. Saturday mornings will need to be worked as activity levels dictate.
Half an hour unpaid lunch break is taken each day. After 42.5 hours during a week overtime at time and a half is payable.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· Serving both trade customers and members of the public in the yard. This may involve helping load customer vehicles with purchased products and will involve using loading shovels/forklifts as required
· Ensuring the yard area is clean and free from potential hazards at all time
· Operating loading machine to unload and load vehicles
· Preparation of orders for delivery
· Looking to instruct customers to ensure company safe practice is undertaken in the yard at all times
Essential Skills:
· Qualified to operate a wheeled loading shovel and forklift.
· A ‘hands on’ role with the candidate needing to be physically active to help customer load materials and help prepare orders for delivery
· Over time the candidate will be expected to develop knowledge of the Rivar product range
· The ability to work well under pressure in a work environment that can get very busy in peak season
· As part of a team in a small company, a willingness to help with all manner of ad-hoc tasks as they may arise

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year

Experience:
- Yard/Depot : 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Forklift license/Loading Shovel license (required)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
