Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be capable of diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and machinery. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and machinery to identify issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other mechanical components.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot problems effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology.
- Repair and maintain vehicles within and above operator licensing requirements
- Attend out of hours breakdowns when required
- Be present at the yard on Monday morning to deal with any defects, issues and breakdowns.
- Be available on Saturday mornings to perform vehicle safety inspections and brake tests.
- A service van will be provided for the successful candidate.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and repair techniques.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A valid C+E licence
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive technology or mechanics.
