Overview
We are seeking punctual and dedicated self employed Bricklayers with CSCS to join our construction team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for mixing mortar, loading out, laying brickwork, lintels and pointing up brickworks in a timely manner with attention to detail. This role offers an opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial buildings, utilising a range of masonry techniques and tools. A strong understanding of safety standards and craftsmanship is essential to ensure high-quality outcomes. Ongoing work maybe available for the correct candidates.
*Please note - we are looking for a team that is located within 30 minutes of the Wakefield area for access to a yard. Work is based around the UK and not necessarily in the area*
Responsibilities
- Bricklaying
- Pointing
- Mix mortar and prepare materials for masonry work
- Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, chisels, and hammers to execute precise bricklaying tasks
- Operate power tools including saws and drills safely and effectively
- Construct walls
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, welders, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite while adhering to health and safety regulations
- Ability to read from drawings and quantify materials
- Set out from drawings and report discrepancies
- Competent in numerous bonds such as English, Flemish, Stretcher etc
- Willingness to work within other teams when no bricklaying is required to complete other tasks
Experience
- Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers
- Experience working with power tools relevant to masonry tasks is preferred
- Knowledge of concreting, carpentry, 360 operator card can be advantageous but is not mandatory.
- Prior experience working on diverse construction projects will be considered an asset
