Job Purpose:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Day Care Coordinator to join our Day Activities Provision. Working within a small charity, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes of the people who use our service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the provision, supporting service users to participate in meaningful activities while ensuring services are delivered to standards consistent with CQC expectations. You will lead and support a small team, ensuring high-quality care, compliance, and excellent service delivery.
Accountability
The Day Care Coordinator is accountable to the Operations Management Team, who will provide regular supervision, guidance, and support. The post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Day Activities Provision. Including the planning and organising of all daily activities.
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, dignity, and rights of all clients are always maintained.
- Promote person-centred support and meaningful engagement in activities.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and emergencies.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with organisational policies, procedures, and CQC standards and expectations.
Team Leadership
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to a small team of support staff.
- Act as a role model, promoting high standards of care and professionalism.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance where required.
- Promote effective communication and teamwork across the service.
Staff Development and Key Working
- Undertake key worker responsibilities for allocated staff members.
- Support staff through regular supervision, guidance, and performance discussions.
- Monitor staff training compliance and ensure mandatory training is completed and kept up to date.
- Identify learning and development needs and report these to management.
Administration and Compliance
- Complete daily administrative tasks, including attendance registers and record keeping.
- Maintain accurate client care plan records and documentation.
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Stock control, be responsible for purchasing and ordering all required stock levels.
- Support audits and quality assurance processes.
Financial Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Home Assessment Officer and Finance Officer to identify and resolve any discrepancies relating to client finances.
- Maintain accurate records relating to financial transactions in accordance with charity policies.
- Escalate concerns promptly to the Operations Management Team.
Partnership Working
- Develop positive relationships with clients, families, professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
- Attend meetings, training, and supervision sessions as required.
Working Hours:
19 hour position – 2.5 days – half day must be worked on a Thursday.
- Standard working day: 9:00am to 5:00pm, including a 30-minute unpaid break
- Half day: Thursday 10:00am to 2:00pm
