Senior Dental Nurse - full time, 5 days per week - GBP 15.50 per hour - start date end of September 2026
ABOUT US
Tower Dental is an established private practice in Blackpool with a settled, experienced team. We run on Dentally, and we take our compliance seriously - which is exactly why this role exists.
THE ROLE
This is a senior post with three parts to it.
1. CHAIRSIDE NURSING. Supporting the dentists and therapist across general and cosmetic treatment. Decontamination, stock, surgery set-up and turnaround, and looking after patients properly from the moment they sit down.
2. SUPPORTING OUR TRAINEE NURSES. You will be the person our trainees learn from. Day-to-day supervision, showing them how things are done, signing off practical experience, and being the first person they come to when they are not sure. You do not need a formal teaching qualification - you need patience and the willingness to explain something twice.
3. COMPLIANCE. You will own the practice's compliance day to day, working with the practice manager and the principal. That covers:
- CQC evidence and readiness for inspection
- Decontamination and HTM 01-05 records and audits
- Radiography (IRR17 and IR(ME)R) records, QA and audits
- Infection prevention and control audits
- Health and safety, COSHH, fire and RIDDOR records
- Staff registration, indemnity, DBS, immunisation and CPD records
- Policy reviews, incident and significant event logging
- Information governance and GDPR records
Training and support will be given on any of this you have not done before - we are not expecting you to arrive knowing all of it.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Current GDC registration as a Dental Nurse (essential)
- Valid professional indemnity (essential)
- Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (essential)
- Solid post-qualification chairside experience (essential)
- Organised, and able to keep records straight without being chased
- Confident enough to raise something when it is not right
- Dentally experience is an advantage, but we will train you
- Radiography and/or Oral Health Education certificates are a bonus, not a requirement
