We are currently seeking an experienced Pastry Cook. The successful candidate will be organised, hard-working, conscientious and enthusiastic about baking with a strong attention to detail. We are looking for someone who is keen to arrive early 4-5 days a week and take an important role in the day-to-day baking of the bakery. You will work alongside our experienced bakers and Pastry Chefs to get insights into the art and science behind the making of our pastries.
Estimated working hours
Wednesdays: 9am-5pm
Thursdays to Saturdays: 5am-1pm / 7am-3pm
Sunday: 6am-12pm (More or less one Sunday off every 2 weeks)
Essential criteria
- A desire to learn and work hard as an important member of a small team
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25kg
- Good fine motor skills
- Experience in making pastries that require lamination
- Ability to follow a recipe and a baking schedule
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Availability from Wednesdays to Sundays.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in working in a bakery / kitchen
- Be familiar with HACCP procedures
- Basic knowledge of French patisserie.
General duties
- Assisting the Pastry Chef with production
- Undertaking HACCP procedures (hygiene and cleanliness)
- Making and separating dough
- Shaping butter
- Making creams and fillings
- Laminating dough (with a professional dough sheeter)
- Cutting and shaping pastries
Salary starting at £12.71 per hour during the 3 months probation period, then increased to £13.45 per hour.
Expected hours: 32 – 42 per week

Pay: £22,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
