Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Casual Delivery Driver to support our operations by transporting and delivering goods between our branches. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent driving skills, effective communication abilities and a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- To transport and deliver goods to branches and customers as directed.
- Check the vehicle on a daily basis and report any damage to the Branch Manager.
- Complete the Vehicle Log Sheet on a weekly basis and pass to the Branch Manager every month.
- Check that all invoices and parts match before delivery.
- Complete the Delivery Sheet with the invoice number and customer name.
- Obtain a signature from the customer on The Delivery Sheet for all goods delivered.
- Collect customer payments as detailed on the Customer Invoice List. Checking the dates, amount in figures/words and signature on all cheques. Always count your cash.
- Upon returning to the branch, hand all monies over to the Branch Manager.
- If any goods are to be returned, complete Goods Return Note. Leave the top copy of the GRN with the customer and ensure that the bottom copy of the GRN accompanies the returned goods.
- To carry out warehouse duties to cover holidays and absences from the branch.
Qualifications:
- Valid driving licence.
- Excellent driving skills proven through 2 years driving experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Familiarity with the geographical area of Huddersfield and surrounding regions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays, as required.
