About the role
We are looking for an organised, dependable and approachable Recruitment & HR Administrator to take ownership of our day-to-day recruitment activity and provide general HR administrative support.
Recruitment is continuous within our business, so this position requires someone who can work consistently across the week, respond promptly to applicants and keep vacancies moving from advertisement through to appointment.
The hours can offer some flexibility, but regular availability from Monday to Friday is important. A typical arrangement could be three hours each day.
Main responsibilities:
- Liaising with the operations team to understand current staffing requirements
- Writing and publishing clear, attractive job advertisements
- Advertising vacancies on Indeed and social media
- Monitoring applications and keeping adverts up to date
- Reviewing applications and shortlisting suitable candidates
- Contacting candidates promptly
- Conducting straightforward initial telephone or video interviews
- Arranging further interviews where required
- Keeping candidates informed throughout the process
- Issuing conditional offers using approved templates
- Maintaining an accurate recruitment tracker
- Providing the operations team with a complete handover for each successful candidate
- Helping to improve recruitment response times and candidate retention
HR administration
- Preparing offer letters, contracts and starter documentation from approved templates
- Obtaining references and right-to-work documentation
- Coordinating DBS checks where applicable
- Creating and maintaining accurate employee records
- Supporting new-starter induction and onboarding
- Monitoring probation reviews and expiring employee documents
- Maintaining training, absence and holiday records
- Preparing routine starter and leaver paperwork
- Maintaining standard HR forms, policies and templates
- Producing simple recruitment and staffing reports
- Providing other general HR administrative support when required
Complex employee-relations matters will remain the responsibility of management and the company’s external HR advisers.
About you
You will need to be:
- Reliable and able to work consistently across the working week
- Highly organised, with good attention to detail
- Confident speaking to applicants and conducting initial interviews
- Comfortable making telephone calls and following up candidates
- Able to communicate professionally and sympathetically
- Capable of managing several vacancies and priorities at once
- Confident using email, Microsoft Office and online recruitment platforms
- Discreet when handling personal and confidential information
- Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
Previous experience in recruitment, HR administration, onboarding or office administration would be beneficial. Experience using Indeed and business social-media accounts would also be helpful.
A CIPD qualification is welcome but not essential. We are more interested in finding someone dependable, organised and capable of taking genuine ownership of the role.

Working pattern
This position is for approximately 15 hours per week, spread across Monday to Friday. The precise working pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant.
Please note that this role requires reliable weekday availability. It is not intended to be worked as one or two full days per week.
