Community Outreach Officer (Prevention)
Fixed Term - Until March 2029
Part Time (22.2 hours per week, To be confirmed with the successful applicant)
Grade 4 – £31,354 - £35,311 FTE (based on 37 hours pw)
Petersfield / Hybrid remote working
Do you want to make a real difference to people at risk of homelessness?
We're looking for a Community Outreach Officer (Prevention) to help prevent homelessness across East Hampshire. This is a frontline role working directly with people who are threatened with homelessness, providing practical, person-centered support to help them secure and sustain suitable accommodation.
You'll work closely with our existing Outreach Officer, Housing Solutions Officers, partner agencies and landlords. Carry out needs and risk assessments, support applicants to complete actions within their Personal Housing Plans and help individuals access the services they need to prevent homelessness. The role involves managing a caseload, lone working, maintaining accurate records and building positive relationships with a wide range of partners
About you
You'll have experience working with people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and an understanding of the challenges they face. You'll be confident carrying out assessments, working independently, building trusting relationships and adopting a person-centered, trauma-informed approach
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
DBS check: Basic
Working pattern: Flexible working within 9 to 5 with occasional early mornings. The days of work are flexible for the right candidate.
