Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Soft Tissue or Sports Massage Therapist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will deliver targeted massage therapies designed to relieve pain, improve mobility, and support overall wellness. Your expertise in anatomy and massage techniques will help patients recover from injuries, reduce muscle tension, and enhance their quality of life. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in our patients’ health journeys.
Duties
- Perform soft tissue and sports massage treatments tailored to individual patient needs
- communicate with the chiropractic team regarding giving best patient care that is tailored to their condition (as assessed by the chiropractor).
- Incorporate various massage techniques such as deep tissue, trigger point, Indian head, sports massage, pregnancy massage (if qualified), children/adolencent massage.
- be able to target massage techniques to muscles of arms, legs, back, head and face, as well as foot and ankle.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and recommend exercises or stretches when appropriate
- Maintain detailed treatment records and document patient progress accurately
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all patients during therapy sessions
- Collaborate with chiropractic doctors to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans
Experience
- Proven experience as a massage therapist specialising in soft tissue or sports massage techniques is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to massage therapy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen carefully and explain procedures clearly
- Certification from a recognised massage therapy program is essential (level 3 or above).
- sports rehabilitation or sports science degrees are more favourable.
What we will offer
- currently taking over a patient base on Monday and Friday and 1-2 Saturday per month. (hours can vary). Total hours offered will be 8.50 - 20 hours. more hours are also possible as you stay with the clinic for longer time and as you build the patient list further.
- self employed option will be available, if you prefer to be self employed.
- depending on your experience the hourly rate offered could vary.
- The position is permanent - either employed or self - employed with 2 years contract requirement (provided probation period has been successful).
- Employed - hours worked are paid as well as paid holidays, meetings and training days, all marketing and clients are provided, and if you represent the company for marketing - those events are paid.
- Self Employed - hours worked plus meetings and training and all marketing and clients are provided. The team also attend marketing events and fairs, which will be paid hours when you help the team.
