Overview
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Young Joiner to join our joinery team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the building and carpentry trades. The role involves assisting with various aspects of joinery, fabrication, and general construction tasks, providing valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment. Duties
- Assisting with the assembly of timber structures and components
- Using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and screwdrivers to complete tasks
- Operating power tools including drills, saws, and sanders safely and effectively
- Participating in carpentry activities such as hanging doors,skirtings,architraves and joinery work
- Handling heavy lifting operations safely to move materials around the site
- Assisting with site preparation, clean-up, and organisation of materials
- Following health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a secure working environment
Skills
- Basic understanding of fabrication, assembly, and carpentry techniques
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction settings
- Knowledge of joinery principles and methods
- Willingness to learn new skills related to construction, heavy lifting, or other specialised trades
- Good organisational skills with an organised approach to work tasks
- Strong teamwork ethic with effective communication skills
- Physical fitness suitable for manual labour including heavy lifting and prolonged periods on your feet
