The primary responsibility of the PSP Operator is to safely and efficiently operate machinery and equipment to meet customer specifications and performance targets. The role requires close collaboration with colleagues to ensure products are processed accurately, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
The PSP Operator is expected to proactively identify and resolve operational, process, and product issues, while maintaining clear and effective communication across the team. A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance is essential, with all duties carried out in strict accordance with company safety procedures.
The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting enhancements in safety, housekeeping, workplace organisation, and environmental performance.
You will be responsible for;

Accurately record production data and documentation using company systems (Tropos, QIS), including data entry and barcode generation

Operate and monitor machinery safely and efficiently to maximise throughput

Carry out routine and basic maintenance including roll changes, machine set-up and adjustments, and support maintenance teams with repairs

Identify, troubleshoot and resolve operational, process and product issues

Ensure all products meet defined quality specifications

Adhere to and promote Safe Systems of Work and procedures

Communicate effectively through handover boards, logs, email and verbal updates

Train and support new operatives as required

Collaborate with NPD teams and customers to develop new products and patterns

Identify quality and output issues, take corrective action, and remove or flag broke and faults where necessary
This is a shift role on a 3 shift rotation working 12 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am
What will make you successful?

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of machinery and equipment operation

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to give and receive direction to achieve operational objectives

Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental practices, including locking off, manual handling, Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, and waste/broke management

Good colour vision to accurately match reels and identify potential shade issues

Understanding of the cost and quality impact of broke generation and processing

Ability to interpret and work to detailed product specifications

Competence in completing all required documentation accurately, clearly and in a timely manner

Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and creative thinking to resolve product and process issues
