SENIOR HEAD CHEF
Wymondham Garden Centre | Full-Time | Salary dependent on experience
Full time position, working 40 hours a week.
7am-3.30.pm Working 2 out of 3 weekends. NO SPLIT SHIFTS OR EVENINGS.
We are looking for an experienced, creative and hands-on Senior Head Chef to join our busy kitchen team.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for the day-to-day running of our kitchen, leading and developing the team, and maintaining high standards of food, service and kitchen operations.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Running the kitchen and overseeing the day-to-day operation
- Leading, managing and motivating the kitchen team
- Being hands-on and actively cooking during service
- Creating exciting, fresh and seasonal dishes
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
- Managing food preparation, ordering and stock control
- Ensuring excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Training and developing members of the kitchen team
- Managing kitchen rotas and staffing levels
- Working closely with the Restaurant Manager and wider management team
- Helping to develop our menus and introduce new ideas
About You
Previous experience as a Head Chef is essential – this is a must.
We are looking for someone who is:

- Able to lead by example, particularly during busy services
- Organised and able to manage a busy kitchen effectively
- A strong communicator who can motivate and develop their team
- Passionate about maintaining high standards
- Reliable, professional and able to work well under pressure
- Keen to bring fresh ideas and creativity to our kitchen
This is not a role for someone looking to step up into their first Head Chef position. You will already have proven experience running a professional kitchen and managing a kitchen team.
