Neeryville Care is seeking an experienced and compassionate Live In Carer to provide temporary cover for a well established live in care placement in Highgate, North London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a carer who enjoys providing person centred support while promoting independence and quality of life.
You will be supporting a 97 year old lady who remains largely independent and enjoys maintaining her daily routines, spending time outdoors, listening to music, and engaging in meaningful conversation. The role is focused primarily on companionship, supervision, reassurance and maintaining wellbeing within her own home.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Encouraging independence with daily activities
- Supporting short walks within the local community
- Preparing meals and encouraging hydration
- Medication prompting and observation
- Light housekeeping and laundry duties
- Monitoring wellbeing and reporting any concerns
- Providing occasional support with personal care where required
- Maintaining accurate daily records
About the Client
The client lives in her own home in Highgate and enjoys remaining active within her local community. She particularly enjoys walks, fresh air, music and conversation. She benefits from a calm, patient and respectful approach to support.
The placement is relatively light compared with many live in care packages, as the client remains mobile and able to complete many aspects of daily living independently with supervision and encouragement.
Essential Requirements
- Previous live in care experience
- Right to work in the UK
- Good spoken and written English
- Ability to provide person centred care
- Reliable, compassionate and professional approach
Desirable Requirements
- Experience supporting people living with dementia
- Ability to speak Spanish or Polish
- Experience promoting independence and community engagement
