Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30 | Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with 1–2 years of post qualification experience who is looking to develop their skills within an industrial setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment to ensure production downtime is minimised and equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role will also involve using maintenance software to complete job cards and ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is visible and accurately recorded.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and machinery.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with electrical regulations and company procedures.
- Complete maintenance records, job cards, and documentation accurately using maintenance software.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects across the site.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Electrician (recognised electrical qualification).
- 1–2 years' experience in an electrical maintenance role.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Full right to work in the UK.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with PLC fault finding.
- Experience working with automated machinery and automation systems.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems and motor control circuits.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
