Job Summary
As a Night Porter, you’ll be the face of the hotel during the overnight shift. You’ll ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests throughout the night while maintaining the smooth running of front-of-house operations. From assisting late arrivals to setting up for the next day, you'll be an essential part of the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests arriving late or departing early with a warm, professional approach.
- Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately using the hotel’s PMS.
- Conduct regular security checks and ensure the safety of guests and property throughout the night.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve issues with discretion and care.
- Set up breakfast areas or meeting rooms as required for the next day’s operations.
- Support with light cleaning duties and maintain the lobby and front desk presentation.
- Handle incoming calls and take messages when necessary.
- Assist with luggage, deliveries, or special guest needs.
- Complete nightly audits or handover reports if required.
- Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed during overnight operations.
About You
- Previous experience in a hotel, security, or customer service role preferred (but not essential).
- A friendly and confident personality with strong communication skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently overnight.
- Able to stay calm and think clearly in high-pressure situations or emergencies.
- Basic IT/computer skills (familiarity with hotel systems is a bonus).
- Eligibility to work in the UK and available for overnight shifts (typically 11 pm–7 am).
