Job Summary
We are seeking a Solicitor to lead our newly created law firm. We are specialists and totally focused. We have a significant client base and a reputation for being experts in our field.
You’ll be dynamic, driven, a self-starter. Proactive, with 3-5 years PQE in a litigation environment. If you’re not hungry, you’re not right for this role because you will be responsible for leading and growing a firm which has a substantial pipeline of business in an increasingly sought after area of professional negligence.
You will be working with groups of investors/claimants and will be expected to deliver an expeditious claims settlement process that provides speedy outcomes for clients and sets the firm apart from its competitors.
This role requires strong organisational and team leadership skills, effective time management, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a litigation team
- Manage a varied caseload of Legal Professional Negligence matters from instruction to resolution, typically valued between £75,000 and £250,000.
- Maintain and develop client relationships
- Support the ongoing development of the litigation function
- Instruct and hold conferences with Counsel
- Instruct experts
- Prepare for and attend Mediation and court hearings
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, likely 3-5 years PQE
- Experience handling a litigation caseload
- Able to manage matters independently without supervision
- Clear communicator with a practical, client-focused approach
- Confidence dealing with liability, causation and quantum
- Experience managing your own caseload from instruction through to settlement or trial
- Excellent communication and client-care skills
- A commercial, organised and proactive approach to case progression
