Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager to lead and build a small team of sales specialists focused on network infrastructure / structured cabling implementations, IT service projects and account management.
This is a direct customer facing role responsible for identifying, owning and managing both existing customer account opportunities and new business management. Along with internal sales team management.
The role requires demonstrable experience selling network infrastructure projects and structured cabling solutions, combined with a commercial consultative, customer / account led approach that aligns customer strategy, deliverable objectives and account management.
Working collaboratively across pre-sales and technical, vendor, professional services, operations, and marketing. This role plays a critical part in delivering technically robust, commercially viable, and strategically supported long-term customer solutions and relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Ownership
Own the full sales lifecycle for account and project solution opportunities, from initial qualification through to closure and formal handover.
Identify, develop, and close new project solution prospects within existing and new account opportunities.
Consistently achieve and exceed revenue, gross profit, and activity targets aligned to company objectives within the sale team.
Build and develop a team of sales specialists aligned to accounts and industry verticals.
Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and opportunity management through disciplined CRM usage.
Solution & Consultative Selling
Lead solution-based sales engagements across enterprise network infrastructure, structured cabling, data protection / security, and associated service opportunities.
Maintain customer account relationships to understand business objectives, technical requirements, budgetary and risk considerations within projects.
Position network foundations as the core of enterprise business architectures, incorporating design, survey, implementation, support and professional services lifecycle management.
Contractual Maintenance & Support: Maximise customer ROI by positioning post implementation support contracts tailored to accommodate customer environments with flexible SLA’s and field service support.
Identify and develop cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across our broader IT service portfolio, including network infrastructure, security services, support and maintenance contracts and connectivity solutions.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior IT leaders, industry partners, procurement teams, and executive-level stakeholders.
Act as the primary commercial owner for customer accounts and new business development opportunities, ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer relationship experience.
Represent Connecture professionally and commercially in customer engagements, partner relationship management and industry.
Internal Collaboration
Work closely with internal pre-sales and technical resources to define customer solution proposals.
Collaborate with partner / vendor management and distribution partners to maximise commercial value, incentives, and deal support.
Partner with marketing on account-based initiatives, sales campaigns, and solution-led lead generation activities.
Coordinate with services, operations, and project delivery teams to ensure successful post-sale implementation support and customer satisfaction.
Vendor & Partner Engagement
Maintain strong working relationships with partners, vendors and supplier management teams.
Support and define sales governance processes, including forecast management, sales pipeline reporting, deal reg and joint account planning.
Contribute to maintaining and enhancing partner relationships and status through active opportunity development.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
Proven track record in industry with a strong background in network infrastructure, structured cabling and / or IT enterprise solutions sales.
Demonstrable sales leadership experience within industry or similar vertical.
Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, data protection, and lifecycle services.
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, including six-figure-plus solution opportunities.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to articulate business value, ROI, and total cost of ownership.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Coupled with strong leadership and managerial capabilities with the ability to recruit, develop and maintain a performant sales team.
Ability to operate autonomously while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
Desirable
Experience selling structure cabling, network infrastructure or IT service solutions.
Knowledge of enterprise IT solutions network architectures.
Familiarity with vendor management and partner programmes including deal registration and tender processes.

Pay: £50,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
