Join the front of house team at The Canteen, a vibrant community café in the heart of Southwold. We serve specialty coffee, house-made cakes and seasonal dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. We’re passionate about great hospitality, quality food and drink, and supporting our local community.
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and hard-working FOH member. You’ll prepare specialty coffee and drinks, deliver excellent customer service and help keep the café running smoothly day to day.

About You
- Experience in hospitality (barista skills preferred) Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
- Welcome customers and provide excellent service
- Take orders and serve tables accurately and efficiently
- Use the POS and online reservation systems confidently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the café and bar area
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and restocking supplies
- Work closely with the team to create a positive and efficient working environment
