Key responsibilities
- New boat sales — manage enquiries for new Jeanneau and Excess yachts and motorboats, conduct viewings and sea trials, specify and configure builds, prepare quotations, and convert prospects into confirmed, deposit-paid orders.
- Used boat & brokerage sales — source, appraise, list and sell used boats and brokerage stock; carry out realistic valuations, prepare listings and deal sheets, and manage negotiations through to completion.
- Customer relationships — act as the customer’s main point of contact throughout, providing knowledgeable, honest advice and a level of service that earns repeat business and referrals.
- Pipeline & CRM — keep all leads, activity and deal progress accurately recorded in the company CRM, and maintain a disciplined, well-managed sales pipeline.
- Handover & aftercare — coordinate with finance, operations and the workshop to ensure smooth, professional boat handovers and a positive post-sale experience.
- Boat shows & events — represent Sea Ventures at boat shows, open days, in-water displays and customer events, including UK & European based events - plus our Swanwick-based showcases.
- Market awareness — maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Jeanneau and Excess ranges, competitor products, pricing and market conditions, and feed insight back to the sales team.
- Targets — meet and exceed agreed sales volume, value and margin targets, working to monthly and annual objectives.

- A strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a comparable role.
- Sound understanding of sail and/or motor yachts and the leisure marine market.
- Confident, credible and personable with customers; a natural closer who builds trust rather than pressure.
- Comfortable with quotations, specifications, part-exchange and finance discussions, and the commercial detail of a deal.
- Well-organised and self-motivated, with disciplined pipeline and CRM management.
- Willing and available to work one weekend day per week on a rota, plus boat shows and events as required.
Desirable
- Existing knowledge of the Jeanneau and/or Excess ranges, or experience with comparable premium brands.
- An established network of contacts within the South Coast / South West boating community.
- Practical boat-handling competence — the confidence to take customers afloat for sea trials and demonstrations.
- Experience using a CRM system to manage leads and reporting.
