Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated In Store Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within our retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the store remains welcoming, safe, and hygienic for both customers and staff. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained shopping environment while working within a friendly team.
Duties
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitising floors, surfaces, and fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, including replenishing supplies and disinfecting all areas.
- Ensure all high-touch areas such as door handles, checkout counters, and display units are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure bins are emptied regularly.
- Restock cleaning supplies and notify management when stock levels are low.
- Follow health and safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning routines to management promptly.
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently during scheduled shifts, which may include early mornings or late evenings depending on store hours.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices is desirable but not essential. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in creating a clean and inviting shopping environment and are committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene within the store premises.
