About the role
Llanddulas Holiday Club is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced childcare professional to help develop and lead our brand-new Holiday Club for children aged 3–11.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved from the beginning, helping us prepare the service for registration with Care Inspectorate Wales and then taking responsibility for its day-to-day operation.
The hours will vary throughout the year. You will work approximately 20 hours per week outside the school holidays, increasing to approximately 44 hours per week during the 11 weeks of Holiday Club delivery.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the development and day-to-day operation of Llanddulas Holiday Club.
- Help prepare the service for registration with Care Inspectorate Wales.
- Develop the policies, procedures and systems needed to run a safe and successful childcare service.
- Plan and deliver fun, creative and inclusive activities for children aged 3–11.
- Take the lead on safeguarding and ensure high standards of care at all times.
- Help recruit, support and mentor playworkers and volunteers.
- Manage staff rotas and support the smooth running of each Holiday Club session.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and local partners.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure the service meets all relevant childcare requirements.
- Work closely with the Trustees and provide regular updates on the development and delivery of the club.
What we are looking for
The successful applicant will have:
- A Level 3 qualification or above in Childcare, Playwork, Early Years or a related subject.
- Experience of working with children aged 3–11.
- Experience of leading or supervising a childcare, playwork or early years service.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to develop policies, procedures and safe working practices.
- A positive, reliable and flexible approach.
- A genuine passion for helping children play, learn and thrive.
Experience of working with Care Inspectorate Wales or supporting a childcare registration would be an advantage.

- 1,304 hours annually, worked flexibly across the year.
- Approximately 20 hours per week outside the school holidays.

- Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the service.
