Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Precast HGV Class 2 Driver & Crane Operator to join our team. The role will involve transporting precast concrete products to various construction sites, ensuring timely delivery, installing & fitting onsite and maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Transporting Materials: Safely transport concrete products to designated sites.
· Vehicle Operation: Operate a Class 2 HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) following all legal and safety requirements. Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, including routine checks and inspections.
· Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of materials (when required) using appropriate lifting equipment and ensuring that the load is secure and properly distributed.
· Installation of products onsite: Offload precast concrete products with lorry mounted crane and fit to suit requirements of customer. (Precast concrete cattle slats)
· Route Planning: Plan and follow safe and efficient routes, taking into consideration site conditions, delivery deadlines, and traffic constraints.
· Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional relationship with customers on-site. Provide timely and clear communication regarding delivery times, delays, or any issues.
· Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to the transportation of heavy or fragile materials. Complete daily vehicle checks, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
· Paperwork and Reporting: Complete all necessary documentation, including delivery notes, vehicle inspection records, and other required logs in a timely manner.
Key Requirements:
· HGV Class 2 License: Valid UK Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle license with no major endorsements.
· CPC Qualification: Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
· Experience: Previous experience driving a HGV, particularly in the transportation of heavy goods or construction materials is preferred. Experience with precast products is a plus.
· Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items and assist with loading/unloading of materials.
· Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with the team and clients, maintaining professionalism at all times.
· Attention to Detail: Strong awareness of load securing, health and safety regulations, and compliance with road laws.
· Location Knowledge: Familiarity with the local road network and any specific delivery challenges in the area.
