LGV Driver & Warehouse Operative
Location: Edgware, HA8
Salary: £28,080–£29,120 per year, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm
Contract: Full-time, permanent
About the role
We are a small, growing business looking for a reliable and hands-on Driver & Warehouse Operative to join our team.
This is a varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the road but is equally happy getting stuck in at the warehouse. You will be responsible for delivering and collecting goods, loading and unloading vehicles, keeping the warehouse organised and helping with the day-to-day running of the business.
As a small business, everyone plays an important part, so we’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical, hardworking and willing to get involved.
Key responsibilities
● Driving company vehicles, including 3.5-tonne vans
● Making deliveries and collections to customers and suppliers
● Loading and unloading vehicles safely
● Checking deliveries and ensuring goods are transported securely
● Picking, packing and preparing orders
● Cleaning and maintaining stock to ensure it is kept in good condition
● Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and organised
● Carrying out regular stock checks
● Helping with general warehouse duties and manual handling
● Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and in good condition
● Completing delivery paperwork and basic records
● Providing a friendly and professional service to customers
● Assisting other members of the team when required
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has a full UK driving licence
● Has previous driving, delivery or warehouse experience
● Is confident driving a 3.5-tonne van
● Is aged 25 or over, as required by our vehicle insurance
● Is physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
● Is organised and takes pride in their work
● Is reliable and punctual
● Has a good attitude and is happy to get stuck in
● Can work independently and use their own initiative
● Has good communication and customer service skills
● Takes care of company vehicles, equipment and stock
● Is looking for a long-term position within a small, friendly business
Previous experience driving larger vans or working in a warehouse would be an advantage, but the right attitude is just as important as experience.
