Northern Leaf is a medical cannabis producer based in Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands and located between England and France. It is one of Europe’s largest medical cannabis producers, with capacity to produce up to 10 tonnes of dried flower a year from its 100,000 sq ft indoor facility. The company grows medical cannabis API for export to European markets, where it is used in finished cannabis-based medicines.
With more than 50 employees and ambitious growth plans, Northern Leaf is strengthening its commercial team as demand for medical cannabis continues to grow across Europe.
The company has been active in Germany for several years and works with a small number of established distribution partners. With a growing product portfolio and strong foundations in place, Northern Leaf is now focused on expanding its German commercial presence and increasing sales volumes.
Role overview
Northern Leaf is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Executive to support the growth of its medical cannabis export business in Germany and selected European markets.
The role will focus on identifying, developing and managing B2B commercial relationships with distributors and other relevant partners. The successful candidate must have experience in the medical cannabis sector, strong knowledge of the German market and an existing network of relevant commercial contacts.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can generate new opportunities, manage distributor relationships and supply chains while working closely with internal teams to convert commercial interest into reliable, compliant supply.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, approach and develop new commercial opportunities for Northern Leaf’s medical cannabis API in Germany and selected European markets.
- Build, manage and grow relationships with distributors and other relevant B2B partners.
- Use existing market contacts to open new commercial conversations and build a qualified pipeline of prospects.
- Support distributor-led sales growth through regular outreach, follow-up and relationship management.
- Serve as a key commercial contact for external partners, including discussions around product availability, pricing, customer requirements and next steps.
- Work with quality teams across regulatory, operations and logistics to ensure customer requirements can be assessed and met.
- Help develop commercial processes, reporting structures and KPIs to support sustainable sales growth.
Preferred qualifications and skills
- Experience in sales, business development, commercial management, key account management or partnerships.
- Experience in the medical cannabis sector and network of existing contacts.
- Strong knowledge of the German medical cannabis market.
- Experience working with distributors, wholesalers, importers or other B2B channel partners.
- Strong sales-driven mindset with proven ability to generate and grow new business.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Analytical and market-aware, with the ability to turn market insight into practical commercial activity.
- Good understanding of compliance, quality and documentation requirements in a regulated market.
- Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently in a developing market.
- Strong English and German language skills.
Pay: From £60,000.00 per year
