Join our Team as an HR Officer at Brooklands Museum!
Are you an organised and people-focused HR professional looking to grow your career in a truly one-of-a-kind setting? Brooklands Museum is looking for an HR Officer to support the day-to-day delivery of our HR function and help us look after the team behind the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation.
Location: Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time – 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday. Occasional bank holiday and weekend working is required, including New Year’s Day each year, with time off in lieu provided.
Reports to: Head of Human Resources
Working closely with the Head of Human Resources, you will be at the heart of everything from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, wellbeing and HR systems. It is a varied, hands-on role with real breadth: you will be a first point of contact for colleagues at all levels and see the full range of HR practice in a busy, visitor-facing charity.
What You’ll Do

Provide day-to-day HR administration, maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.

Prepare contracts, offer letters and HR documentation, and administer probation, absence, annual leave and performance review processes.

Coordinate recruitment and onboarding, from advertising vacancies and arranging interviews to pre-employment checks and induction.

Act as a first point of contact for HR queries from managers and employees, providing guidance on policies and procedures.

Support the Head of Human Resources with employee relations casework, including note-taking, correspondence and confidential records.

Support employee engagement, wellbeing and training activity across the Museum.

Ensure HR records and processes comply with GDPR, employment legislation and organisational policies.
Who You Are

Previous experience in an HR administration or HR Officer role, including supporting recruitment and onboarding.

Experience of maintaining confidential records and handling sensitive information with discretion.

Strong organisational and administrative skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner.

The ability to prioritise a varied workload and work collaboratively as part of a small team.

Confidence using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.

A CIPD Level 3 qualification, or working towards a CIPD qualification, is desirable.
