Responsibilities:
Support regional management and supervisory teams with all information related to the National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) and training courses.
Liaise with internal and external training providers to ensure mandatory training is completed on time and does not expire for the employees in the area of your responsibility.
Assess all employees in your area of responsibility on every aspect of the National Highways Sector Scheme, supporting and advising regional management teams as to the most suitable Highway Electrical Registrations Scheme (HERS) occupation for each operative within the area of responsibility.
Ensure each employees’ online portfolio is of an excellent standard, completing regular reviews with team managers.
Manage HERS audit actions and expiring cards/modules proactively. Ensure Audit actions are completed within 10 days.
Support line managers with the completion of concessions where required for trainees or expired training and observations.
Ensure all employees are registered to the NHSS within an appropriate timescale and to the appropriate level that reflects their knowledge and understanding.
Support the National Vocational Qualification process by ensuring all core modules are completed within 6 months of the employee starting.
Communicate any relevant HERS/HEA changes to the wider team.
Meet the minimum requirements of the relevant Highway Electrical Registrations Scheme (HERS) occupation, and working towards or completed the associated NVQ level
Proactively liaise with the Field Services management and supervisory team to ensure requirements for training and practical assessments are effectively incorporated within local resource plans.
Any other duties reasonably requested within the skills required for the role to enable a seamless service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
Working within a traffic signal or highways environment
Previous experience of the HEA NHSS
NVQ Assessor Qualification (desirable)
Working outside and working at heights
Experience of training, mentoring & coaching
Having a track record of team development
Experience in maintenance of electrical equipment and systems in a commercial/industrial environment
Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering
Working with hand and small power tools
IOSH qualified (desirable)
NHSS Qualified Supervisor (desirable)
NHSS Authorising Officer (desirable)
