Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial record-keeping. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic organisation, working with a range of accounting software and financial systems. The ideal applicant will have a keen eye for detail, strong data entry skills, and experience with multiple accounting platforms.
Duties
- Undertaking the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger function
- Processing supplier invoices; ensuring quantities and prices reconcile
- Issuing customer invoices based on the information provided by merchandising team
- Preparing and verifying payments using online banking and allocating payments
- Managing supplier accounts and dealing with suppliers regarding payments and queries
- Managing customer accounts, dealing with customer’s queries and updating statement to customers.
- Generating aged debtor report and aged creditor report on a weekly basis
- Setting up weekly payment run
- Bank reconciliation
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Reviewing, investigating and providing analysis of areas of expenditure
- Assisting in housekeeping of accounting software including journal entries
- Maintain organised filing systems for all financial documentation and correspondence
The jobholder may from time to time be required to perform additional tasks and responsibilities, deemed to be within their capabilities, to fulfil the needs of the business.
Report to Finance Manager.
Experience
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks
- Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience managing accounts payable functions is highly desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Must be a good team worker and have a flexible approach to work
- Confidence to liaise with external parties, different departments and levels of staff in a professional manner.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
