Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our assisted living and nursing home facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care, and will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being among our residents.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
- Coordinate daily activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and outings.
- Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages resident participation and socialisation.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents, including those with mobility challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the programme.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input on future activities.
- Provide training and support to caregiving staff on how to engage residents in meaningful activities.
Experience
- Previous experience in an assisted living or nursing home setting is essential.
- A background in senior care, particularly with dementia or Alzheimer's patients, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills are required to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience in caregiving within a care home environment is advantageous.
