We require a Chef to assist with the kitchen operations of our Community Bar & kitchen in Kirkliston.
The Chef will play a crucial role in the kitchen, supporting the delivery of fantastic dishes to our guests. They must possess strong culinary skills, and a passion for food to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in planning and organising the daily operations of the kitchen.
2. Food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
3. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
4. Manage inventory and control food costs by minimising waste and optimising ingredient usage.
5. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
6. Assist in the ordering and receiving of food supplies and ingredients.
7. Monitor portion sizes and food presentation to maintain consistancy and customer satisfaction.
8. Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen and dining area.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and ingredients to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
2. Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
4. Attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
5. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
7. Creativity and the ability to contribute to menu development and innovation.
