Job Role:
We have an opening at Illston and Robson for a Supervisor of our Assembly Department. The role reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager and has the following key responsibilities:
- Maintain a calm, professional and supportive working environment within the Assembly Team of 8 people. Including resolving day-to-day issues and escalating personnel concerns where appropriate.
- Ensure the high quality standards that the Assembly team need to meet are consistently maintained.
- All production paperwork is completed correctly, ensuring that all processes are followed correctly and preventing errors in the MRP system.
- Ensure that staff are working efficiently and that production targets are met, escalating potential bottlenecks to senior management if necessary.
- Identifying and communicating practical improvements to Assembly processes to improve the throughput, adherence to quality standards and welfare of your team.
These roles tie into Illston and Robsons overall goals of:
- Improving ‘on time, in full’ shipment of orders, results of which are monitored and reviewed monthly with corrective actions implemented to allow us to continuously improve.
- Controlling our PPM target of 120, which is monitored and reviewed monthly to allow us to continuously improve.

We are looking for someone who is calm, organised and practical in their approach to work and who knows how to get the best out of a small production team within a busy manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate should have experience being responsible for maintaining high quality standards and following processes. They should do so in a fair and professional manner, proactively creating a positive and supportive atmosphere within the Assembly Team.
Good communication skills are important, as the role will involve working closely with both shopfloor staff and management to help resolve day-to-day issues, maintain production flow and ensure that quality standards are met.

Previous supervisory experience within a manufacturing or production environment would be beneficial, although we are also open to candidates who have strong operational experience and the right personal qualities for the role.
Monthly Paid
Pay: £34,900.00 per year
