Job description:
We are looking for a friendly and reliable Shop Assistant to join our busy fish and chip shop. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, take orders and payments, help prepare and serve food, keep the shop clean and tidy, and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Main duties:
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Taking customer orders and handling cash and card payments
- Assisting with preparing and serving food
- Packing takeaway orders
- Keeping the shop, counter and work areas clean and tidy
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Restocking supplies when required
- Helping the team during busy periods
- Opening and closing duties where required
What we're looking for:
- Friendly and polite with good customer service skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy environment
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience in a takeaway, restaurant, café or retail environment is helpful but not essential, as training can be provided
Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Pay: £10.09-£14.57 per hour
