We are looking for a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join our Night Shift Production Team in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or machine operating experience who enjoys working independently while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring production machinery to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Initial training may need to be carried out on the day shift.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up, operating and monitoring machinery in line with production requirements.
- Ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Carrying out routine quality checks and inspections.
- Completing production records and documentation accurately.
- Identifying and reporting machine faults, defects or quality concerns.
- Making basic machine adjustments to maintain efficiency and product quality.
- Minimising waste through accurate machine setup and operation.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
- Supporting production targets and operational deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Production, Quality and Warehouse teams.
About You
We would like to hear from candidates who:
- Have previous manufacturing, production or machine operating experience.
- Possess good attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Have a practical and mechanical mindset.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Are reliable, flexible and safety conscious.
- Have good communication skills.
- Are comfortable working permanent night shifts.
- Are keen to learn and develop within a growing business.
A mechanical background would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
