Thorburn Group is a growing business operating across construction, structural steelwork, livestock equipment, and engineering projects throughout Scotland and Northern England. Following continued growth across all divisions, we are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to help ensure projects are delivered efficiently while providing an exceptional customer experience.
The Role
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects from order confirmation through to completion, ensuring clear communication between our customers, Project Managers, workshop, design, procurement, transport, and site teams.
This role is focused on keeping projects moving, identifying and resolving issues before they become problems, and ensuring customers are regularly updated throughout the lifecycle of their project.
You will become the key link between our internal departments and our clients, helping to coordinate activities and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project delivery.
- Ensure customers receive regular updates on project progress.
- Coordinate communication between sales, estimating, design, procurement, workshop, transport, and site teams.
- Work closely with Project Managers to monitor project progress and identify any delays or risks.
- Assist in planning labour, materials, subcontractors, and resources across projects.
- Monitor project programmes and ensure agreed milestones are achieved.
- Manage variations, customer requests, and changes to project scope.
- Resolve customer queries and issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain project records and ensure information is communicated accurately across departments.
- Support continuous improvement of project delivery procedures and processes.
- Help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
