About the role
We’re recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join our new residential services opening later this year in:
These services will support young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day running of the services, ensuring the team delivers high-quality care, and helping the Service Manager create a positive, person-centred culture. This is a hands-on, leadership position, where you’ll be involved in both operational tasks and the ongoing development of the service.
Your role
In this role, you’ll be a key member of the leadership team, assisting in:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring it runs smoothly and safely
- Supporting the Residential Service Manager with the mobilisation and ongoing development of the service
- Assisting with the implementation of positive behaviour support and person-centred care planning
- Supporting staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management
- Maintaining a high standard of care, ensuring services meet and exceed CQC Fundamental Standards
- Being an active presence in the service, providing hands-on leadership and guidance to the team
- Building strong relationships with families, external professionals, and commissioners
- Managing rotas, budgets, staffing, and ensuring compliance with all health & safety and regulatory standards
You’ll work closely with the Residential Service Manager and an experienced Area Manager, and be supported by an internal PBS specialist to ensure success.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is passionate, resilient, and people focused.
You’ll bring:
- Experience supporting young adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
- A background in residential care, ideally at a supervisory or leadership level
- A solid understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards in care
- Strong communication and team management skills
- An understanding of positive behaviour support, risk management, and person-centred planning
- The ability to remain calm, confident, and solution-focused in challenging situations
- A Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Flexibility to support the service’s needs
