Summary of Position
To support the export shipping function by ensuring all shipments are prepared, documented, and dispatched in accordance with company procedures and dangerous goods regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare dangerous goods declarations and DG box labels in line with ADR/IATA requirements.
- Arrange courier bookings and prepare all relevant shipping documentation, including invoices and air waybills.
- Check chemicals, pack, and complete orders in line with customer instructions and dangerous goods regulations.
- Advise on bottling and packing requirements for dangerous goods shipments.
- Ensure shipments are correctly matched with documentation and labelled appropriately.
- Support the Sales team by providing shipping documentation and assisting with shipping queries.
- Maintain packaging stock levels within the Packing Room and report any shortages.
- Support wider warehouse activities as required, depending on operational needs (subject to training and competency).
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to more efficient ways of working.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all departmental procedures and SOPs, including correct use of PPE.
- Ensure compliance with ADR/IATA regulations, company policies, and ISO9001 standards.
- Report any discrepancies or health and safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards and adhere to 5S principles.
- Comply with all company policies, including the Environmental Policy and Health & Safety requirements.
- Full training will be provided, including Dangerous Goods (ADR/IATA) certification where required.
Desirable
- Previous experience in export shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Basic understanding or exposure to dangerous goods regulations (ADR/IATA).
- Experience preparing shipping documentation (e.g. air waybills, invoices, courier systems).
- Familiarity with handling, packing, or storing chemicals or regulated products.
- Experience working within a quality-controlled or regulated environment (e.g. ISO9001).
- Confidence using IT systems for shipping, stock control, or documentation.
Pay: Up to £26,728.00 per year
