BRIK Construction Ltd is a growing commercial fit-out and refurbishment contractor delivering projects throughout the UK.
We are looking for an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support our pre-construction team on a part-time basis. This role would suit an experienced construction professional seeking flexible working arrangements.
The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to prepare Bills of Quantities, schedules of rates and tender enquiry packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
You will work closely with our directors and project management team to ensure enquiries are issued accurately and quotations are returned in a timely manner.
The role is primarily remote, however attendance at our Daventry office will be required approximately one day per week.
- Reviewing construction drawings and project specifications.
- Taking off quantities from drawings.
- Producing Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Preparing schedules of rates.
- Compiling subcontractor and supplier tender packages.
- Issuing enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Obtaining and analysing quotations.
- Producing tender comparison documents.
- Assisting with estimating and pricing exercises.
- Liaising with project managers and commercial staff regarding project costs and procurement.
Essential Requirements
- Experience within commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Proven ability to prepare Bills of Quantities and schedules of rates.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience obtaining and analysing subcontractor quotations.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable
- Quantity Surveying or Construction-related qualification or experience
- Experience using Excel or similar measuring/estimating software.
- Experience working for a main contractor.
Working Pattern
- Part-time and flexible hours.
- Hybrid working available.
- Attendance at our Daventry office approximately one day per week.
- Potential for additional hours as workload increases.
Pay: £19.00-£33.00 per hour
