Overview
We are seeking a professional Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between individuals speaking different languages. This role involves translating spoken language in real-time across various settings, including meetings, conferences, and client interactions. Responsibilities
- Provide accurate oral translation between speakers of different languages during meetings, conferences, and other events
- Facilitate communication in diverse settings such as healthcare, legal, business, or community services
- Assist with written translation tasks as required, including documents and correspondence
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times
- Prepare for interpretation sessions by reviewing relevant materials and terminology
- Utilise appropriate technology tools for translation and transcription purposes
- Ensure clear and professional communication at all times, adapting language style to suit the context
Skills
- Multilingual proficiency with fluency in English and at least one other language
- Bilingual ability with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances relevant to the languages spoken
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to interpret quickly and accurately
- Proficient typing skills for transcription or note-taking purposes
- Outstanding organisational skills to manage multiple assignments efficiently
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to varying environments and subject matters
