Job Title: Trainee Dental Nurse – Full Time (part time considered)(qualified dental nurse also considered)

Rate: £9.80-£13 per hour

About the role:
As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you will work closely with our dentists, therapists and hygienists, assisting during treatments, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
You will also play an active role in the day-to-day running of the practice, including supporting reception and front of house duties as required. This will involve welcoming patients, booking and managing appointments, handling patient enquiries (in person and by phone/email), and taking and recording payments accurately and professionally.
The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly between surgery and reception, contributing to a positive patient experience and supporting the wider team.
Full training and support will be provided, including enrolment on a fully funded dental nursing course.
Requirements:
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade A–C or equivalent) preferred but not essential
- Friendly, professional, and organised
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
- Willingness to learn and undertake training
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Must be available to work at least 2 Saturday's per month.
Duties
- Assist our practitioners during various dental procedures, ensuring that the patient is comfortable and informed throughout the process.
- Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, using IT systems effectively.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering reassurance, and educating patients about oral health practices.
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently to optimise patient flow and minimise waiting times.
- Ensure the dental practice is clean, organised, and compliant with infection control protocols.
