Laurel House Surgery is looking for a friendly, organised and patient-focused Receptionist to join our busy family practice. We operate across two sites in Tamworth and Fazeley and pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of care to our patients.
This is a key front-of-house role within our reception and administrative team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Greeting patients and visitors
- Booking appointments and signposting to appropriate services
- Managing patient enquiries
- Processing new patient registrations
- Maintaining and administering the waiting room system
- Liaising with GPs and the wider Reception/Administrative Team
- Undertaking general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice
- Carrying out any additional duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Partners or Management Team
Essential Requirements:
- Previous GP Reception experience
- Confident using computer systems (EMIS experience desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
Working Pattern – 20.5 Hours Per Week
- Monday: OFF
- Tuesday: 08:00am - 6.30pm
- Wednesday: 8:00 am – 2:00pm
- Thursday: OFF
- Friday: 8:00 am – 1:00PM
