HJ Lea Oakes Ltd are suppliers of top-quality animal and livestock feeds, serving farmers across a wide area in Cheshire, Lancashire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and North Wales. We are currently looking for a part-time Shop Assistant to join our team in delivering outstanding customer service in our Pet food Superstore in Congleton.
Job Description and Profile
It is a diverse role that involves working on the shop floor . Duties include: handling cash, processing orders and stock keeping, loading customer vechicles. Prior experience of working in the retail environment and experience of using EPOS systems will be an advantage, but full training will be provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· handling cash, cheques and debit/credit cards, cashing in/out
· receiving, processing & checking customers’ orders
· handling and resolving customers’ enquiries
· creating point-of-sale
· stock management
· working as part of the team on the shop floor, serving customers, replenishing stock, till work
Skills and Specifications:
· Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
· Excellent communication skills
· Good numeracy and literacy
· The successful candidate will be energetic, polite, friendly, tactful and well presented
· Interest in helping and working with customers
Terms:
· Temporary Part time position (24 hours a week, between 8.30am-5pm, normally Monday Tuesday and Wednesday, but might include occasional Saturdays, overtime might be available)
· Fixed term contract for a period of 6 months with the potential to become permament.
