Job Description
River Woodwork Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wood Machinist & CNC Operator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machinery & edge bander, to produce precision wood components and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Hours are 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate edge bander.
- Operate CNC machines to cut, shape, and finish wood components according to specifications.
- Using CNC machine programs & creating small, one-off programs.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
- Set up and adjust CNC machines, selecting appropriate tools and materials.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Document and report any discrepancies or issues with the production process.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC & Edge Bander Operator in a woodworking environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and woodworking machinery.
- Knowledge of tooling and tool paths.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to quality and safety.
